Athletics Competition

On Thursday 12th November 2015, 18 children from Year 5/6 went to Grimsby College to join other schools from the area in an Athletics Competition. The children competed in a number of events which included running, hurdles, relay races, throwing and a variety of jump. Each child presented the school in 3 events and competed with pride and passion. ‘First of all, we sorted out the groups of what event we were going to do. I did the speed bounce, obstacle course and chest pass throw. My chest pass throw was one of the best in the group, so I was happy with that. It was really fun and we even got a team photo!’ Jack Bennett, Year 5. ‘We had to compete in many different athletic courses in the Sports Hall. I did the 6 lap relay, 4 lap relay and Javelin throw. The Javelin throw went terrible for me; I threw it up and landed just in front of me. I laughed and looked straight over at Mrs Attridge who also found it quite funny. It was a really good morning and I had fun!’ Megan Barnstable, Year 6. Overall Macaulay Primary came 7th out of 8 schools. Well done to everyone that took part, we are all really proud.

Overall Macaulay Primary came 5th out of 8 schools.

Well done to everyone that took part, we are all really proud.
